This shot was taken last Sunday at Monument Hill in Fremantle. Didn't think too much of this shot at the time, but its growing on me.
This image is by no-means my favourite image but to this day it intrigues me. A cliche sunset silhouette yes. But where does the lone palm branch come from?
While I'm here, my thoughts on Hawaii. Incredible...if you get out of Honalulu. Honalulu represents everything i despise in a holiday. An overcrowded touristy concrete Metropolis with poluted, crowded beaches full of people that can't swim. And don't get me started on the food. It is near impossible to find a decent meal that doesn't contain my yearly fat content in one meal.
Elsewhere, incredible scenery, culture, people, surf and climate. Fortunately i managed to spend a week on the island of Kauai which was amazing. Remote, small, incredibly scenic, i only wish i had skipped Oahu completely to spend more time here. I will get round to posting more photos when i get the chance.
It reminds me a lot of Margaret River region down south yet with a tropical climate all year round! The older i get the more i realise I need the warmer climate to feel alive.
Does anyone else have one place that represents a place that they love and hate at the same time?
Cheers,
Chris
