A few weeks ago Perth was rocked by the news of yet another Shark attack this time at one of Perths most iconic tourist destinations, Cottesloe beach.  As the office is only minutes away and could hear the news and search helicopters overhead, i headed down with the camera unsure of what would be happening.

It surprised me as it seemed business as usual, though this was Bryn's bathers had been discovered at the bottom of the ocean (which would force the immediate closure of the beach).

This photograph is a 10 image stitch which has some nice cloud formations (perfect shark attack weather) as well as reflections of the sun bouncing of the glorious Indian ocean.  When you blow this image up you can see that below the Indiana Tearooms is closed off to police and there is both a helicopter and police boat within the scene.

The scene is nicely book-ended by the Tearooms and the boy gazing out to the ocean.

Here's one panoramic photo i was thinking of entering, taken from Freshwater Bay in Peppermint Grove.  This 13 image panorama, stitched in Adobe photoshop CS5 shows amazing detail at full size.

The size of this photograph in this blog doesn't do it justice.  This 9 imaged stitched panoramic image was taken recently during Perth's run of amazing cloud formations.  Freshwater Bay is a beautiful stretch of the Swan River and is virtually deserted during the week.  I love the heritage of these old Boat sheds and had been waiting for a nice day to capture what i like to call a "Perth Postcard Shot".

These photos aren't by any means my personal favorites, but they tend to be the biggest sellers by travelers and tourists who come through Perth, Western Australia and want an iconic image that captures Perth's best asset's (The Swan River and our magical summer days.

The Swan River is such a great place to spend the weekend with endless activities you can do such as canoeing, fishing, swimming, riding around. There are also so many fantastic spots to take landscape photos from.

If you are interested in a print of this, I am offering it at a fantastic discount rate of $99.00 for one week only.  Please email me if you are interested and i'll supply you with details.  At full size this photo is almost 1m long and looks stunning on a wide wall.  It would also make a great gift for a visitor to Perth.

One of jobs as a photographer that i find the most tedious is archiving and cataloging of images.  Have to file terabytes of images is one thing that i find really boring.  I have begun filing my Vietnam photos and realise how many i need to upload to the website (another of my favorite tasks!).  I came across this image of Monkey Island when i went searching for monkeys.  After a hour trek up the side of the cliff without monkeys i stopped to take this image as i wanted something for my efforts.

It was an 6 image stitch overlooking the bay on a amazing day.
