Another shot taken on the Canon G1-X. The great thing about this camera, is the ability to take it everywehere. I've always wanted to find an interesting perspective on these lights, and i with the cloud formation i noticed on my ride to work i thought it would make an nice shot. Contrast and a blue cast were added in photoshop to make the scene more dramatic.
This is my first image in a long time. A result of the realities of work and a period of creative block. More excitingly this is also my first image from the Canon G1-X. Im really excited by the possibilty this camera will provide me. This high end compact from Cannon offers suburb image quality from the largest sensor in it's class. It's a camera that i want to try and keep on me as much as possible to shoot whenever opportunity arises.
From the limited shots i've taken i can say I've been very impressed with the results thus-far. The 14MP camera, features a 4x optical zoom from a very nice lens. Noise from the RAW images is very low even at high ISO's.
This shot in-particular was shot hand-held at 400ISO on a overcast day on the Applecross foreshore south of Perth, Western Australia. I look forward to posting a more comprehensive review of the camera soon, but really happy so far.
